We all know the storied rivalries in NBA history, ranging from the Celtics and Lakers (ranging from the 60s to the 80s to the late 00s), to the Celtics and 76ers, the Lakers and Spurs, and more recently the Warriors and Cavs. But there is a rivalry that was just as intense, and just as enthralling to hardcore NBA fans, and that was the Pistons and Bulls in the late 80s. You had Michael Jordan ascending to the top of the NBA, but the Pistons worked too hard to claim the king of the hill status to simply roll over. Throw in Isiah Thomas being from Chicago, and this match-up had everything.
